· The Skill Training programs are coordinated through Bethel Institute of Management Studies and Entreprenuership Developement (BIMED)

We provide consultancy and technical service to other NGOs which are willing to start micro finance activities, and to entrepreneurs which are starting their own business.

Objectives

ESAF Micro Enterprise Development (MED), which started in 1995, provides a broad package of financial services [savings, credit and insurance] as well as other business development services (business training, consultation, marketing and technical assistance) to entrepreneurs and the poor to enable them to operate their own productive economic activities. It seeks to serve a spectrum of people ranging from labor poor to self-employed poor to entrepreneurial poor.
We believe that MED demonstrates the God's concern for the poor is not just to meet their economic needs, but to empower them to address their own needs jointly.
We achieve our vision through the following 3 programs:
1) Swasraya Sangam (Credit & Savings Program)
MED is providing repayable financial assistance through Swasraya Sangam (credit and savings Programs)
to the poor for any kind of micro enterprise activity. Presently the program focuses on the women living in rural,
tribal and urban slum communities. Swasraya Sangam means self-reliant and self-help group.
Modus Operandi:
* Groups consisting of five members are formed. A Sangam consists of three to five such groups
* The vision is imparted, financial assistance and training arranged
* Weekly repayment and creation of special saving fund insisted
* The group meets regularly, develops a structure and discipline of its own.
